Week 4 has come and gone

EVERYBODY SHUT UP! MY BOY'S ON TV!! Right, now that I've got your attention, hello and welcome to my letter today. I am SO STOKED for General Conference this weekend. Y'all better be there or be square. Or at least listen to it. Entonces, we are now in the middle of our week 5. Entonces, we will have been here a month tomorrow. Entonces, last P-day was awesome because it was our temple trip! Entonces, the temple was really beautiful and they had this little tienda there with some really sweet ties and CTR/HLJ rings. Entonces, I had to listen to most of it in Spanish though because the headset I got wasn't working right. Entonces, it was really cool getting to see how much I could recognize what they were saying. Entonces, I knew a lot of what it was in English too so I could go off of that as well! Entonces, I'll stop using entonces because it's getting repetitive.  Entonces, I don't have my journal with me so I'm just gonna wing this. That was a...

Week 3-4

Image
September 21, 2017 So we have now started our fourth week here. That's a crazy thought. I am now about 4-5% done with my mission. Anyways, onto what happened this past week. Because a lot has happened. And I mean A LOT, both spiritually and physically. So Friday was pretty normal... For the most part. We had a really great lesson with one of our investigators, Joan, and the Spirit was strong during it. Then that night we had a "bright" idea to pull a prank on the Hermanas in our district. The zone leaders were wanting to speak to us that night sometime, so we took that to our advantage to say that we got in big trouble for doing something, but no one was sure what. Then the prank just went on longer than it needed to be and the zone leaders were in on it too. Needless to say, the Hermanas hated us after that. Well, only for that night really because the next day things were back to normal. On Saturday we learned that one of our teachers, Hermana Gutierre...

Week 2 at the CCM

September 14, 2017 My roommates, Elder Cebollero, Elder Taylor, Elder Atkin and I Buenos Días! The second week here at the CCM was great! Though I am already like halfway through my third week. Anyways, so the day after my last p-day, Saturday, it rained insanely hard. And me and my comp got completely soaked because we didn't have an umbrella and I left my rain jacket in the classroom, which was where we were going. We got two new investigators to teach, Andrea and Joan, even thought both are still our teachers. It still feels real when we teach them. There was also a parade going on outside the walls that we could see a little bit of from our classroom. And there was some stars in the sky that we could see for the first that night too.  Sunday, the 10th, was a great spiritual day. But not the greatest physical health day. I started to get a little bit of a sore throat, though I am fine. But the 3 different devotionals we had that day were awesome. One of the d...

First Week and a half at the CCM

Image
September 09, 2017 Okay, my first P-day is finally here. Then next week and the weeks after my P-days will be on Thursday. First things out of the way, My companion is Elder Taylor and he is super dope. He loves LotR, probably even more than me, and we hit it off. He is also super buff and did strongman competitions in the past. Our whole district has 6 companionships in it, with one of them being Hermanas. Everyone is super awesome and we are growing pretty tight. Also, one of the Elder´s in our district, Elder Dotson, is going to Saltillo too, and he from St. George and did SUCCESS Academy as well. So that was pretty cool. The CCM President here is President Bennett and his wife, and they are really great people. We have already finished teaching our first "investigator" Tony. Tony is actually one of our teachers, Hermano Bejar. The first lesson went really terrible, as we knew little Español and it was basically the second full day we were here at the CCM. We got T...

Welcome to the Blog

August 25, 2017 This blog is dedicated to the weekly emails that myself, Elder Joshua Turner, will be sending. With the help of my mom, this blog will be updated from each email sent and uploaded with pictures. Hopefully... It is less than four days until I report now, so I am ecstatically awaiting my departure. If you wish to send me an email and inform me of the latest Jazz and BYU games or whether or not Thor Ragnarok is as awesome as it looks (but no spoilers please and thank you), I would heavily encourage you to do so at joshua.turner@myldsmail.net You could also ask how my mission is going, but that's not required. Godspeed, Elder Turner
