Week 3-4
So we have now started our fourth week here. That's a crazy thought. I am now about 4-5% done with my mission. Anyways, onto what happened this past week. Because a lot has happened. And I mean A LOT, both spiritually and physically.
So Friday was pretty normal... For the most part. We had a really great lesson with one of our investigators, Joan, and the Spirit was strong during it. Then that night we had a "bright" idea to pull a prank on the Hermanas in our district. The zone leaders were wanting to speak to us that night sometime, so we took that to our advantage to say that we got in big trouble for doing something, but no one was sure what. Then the prank just went on longer than it needed to be and the zone leaders were in on it too. Needless to say, the Hermanas hated us after that. Well, only for that night really because the next day things were back to normal.
On Saturday we learned that one of our teachers, Hermana Gutierrez will no longer be our teacher in the morning because of her high work load. So that was sad because she was awesome. But besides that it was a pretty normal day.
Sunday is always a great day. We have 2 or 3 devotionals every Sunday and they are all great. We also watched The Restoration movie about Joseph Smith and it was really powerful as always. Then the storm on Sunday was INTENSE. You know what else is intense? Camping. Anyways, the wind was blowing super hard and the rain was coming down as a blanket for what seemed like forever. Umbrellas were useless, even though I didn't even have one. Everyone got soaked going back to their casas. I couldn't see out of my glasses after like 2 seconds in that storm. It was nice.
Then on Monday we got to see who our new teacher was, Hermana Rodriguez. She's a pretty good teacher. But I think I am now addicted to playing frisbee with Pringles can lids. The lids actually work surprisingly well.
Now onto Tuesday. So the morning started normal as always. But then in the middle of our lesson around 11 a.m. with our new investigator, Elsa, the earthquake siren went off and we all flooded to these green circles in the road to stay safe. None of use felt anything, and then they said it was only a drill so we carried back on with our lesson. But then a few hours later, around 1, we were in our casa getting ready to go to gym time, and all of a sudden I felt my chair start moving and shaking under me. An actual earthquake was happening, and it had only been like 2 hours since we had the drill. The feeling of the earth moving beneath you is really weird and I can't really describe it. The epicenter of the earthquake was only about 70 miles away from us and it was 7.1 earthquake there. We are all praying for the people who were affected by it here. But Tuesday doesn't just end with the earthquake. We had Progressing Investigator Mixed later on in the day, and for that everyone had a new Latino companion and we taught a new investigator with our new companion. I was in a trio with Elder Orona from my district, and our Latino companion whose last name I would try to spell but I'll just say it starts with a P. At first I was kind of worried that he didn't understand much English, as he was only speaking in Spanish. But it turns out that he is from Florida and is just as fluent in English as he is in Spanish. Then we had a devotional that night that was broadcasted from the Provo MTC with Elder Cook as the key speaker. That was awesome too.
Yesterday was once again a normal day with nothing really sticking out as an incredible or scary experience. But our whole district did do something pretty cool. We all bought candy bars and placed them on the desks in a Latino classroom without them knowing. We don't really know what their reaction was, but it was cool nonetheless.
And that's about it for the past week. Today we are going to the Mexico City Temple around noon, which is why I have to write earlier than normal. Which also means that I didn't have many pictures because we are only supposed to take pictures on P-days at the CCM. Hopefully I'll have some cool pictures next week with the Temple to go with it! But yeah, my Español is still getting better everyday. The past two days we tried to do an English Fast where we don't say anything in English. The fast started out strong on both days, but then after lunchtime we all slowly went back to speaking more English.
I hope everything back home is going well, and it seems like it is. I love you all!

Not many pictures this week. But that's because we are going to the temple today during P-day, so I haven't had much time for pictures. There will definitely be more pictures next week.
Anyways, we had this insanely intense storm on Sunday, and I tried to get a few pictures of it but you can't really tell how bad it was in them. The wind was blowing super hard and we all got soaked again running back to our casas after the devotional. Umbrellas did absolutely nothing.
