First Week and a half at the CCM

Okay, my first P-day is finally here. Then next week and the weeks after my P-days will be on Thursday. First things out of the way, My companion is Elder Taylor and he is super dope. He loves LotR, probably even more than me, and we hit it off. He is also super buff and did strongman competitions in the past. Our whole district has 6 companionships in it, with one of them being Hermanas. Everyone is super awesome and we are growing pretty tight. Also, one of the Elder´s in our district, Elder Dotson, is going to Saltillo too, and he from St. George and did SUCCESS Academy as well. So that was pretty cool. The CCM President here is President Bennett and his wife, and they are really great people.

We have already finished teaching our first "investigator" Tony. Tony is actually one of our teachers, Hermano Bejar. The first lesson went really terrible, as we knew little Español and it was basically the second full day we were here at the CCM. We got Tony to commit to baptism too before our lessons with him were over.

My Español is already 100x better from the first day. And that´s not even an exaggeration. Though I am still nowhere close to being fluent. The Latino missionaries here are super hilarious and friendly. They also help to teach some of the phrases that wouldn't be taught in our classes. One of them is even from the Dominican Republic, which is cool. They always yell "MORMONS!!!!" every time they see us or pass by our classroom, as if they aren't Mormons themselves lol.

Every Sunday we have to prepare a talk in Español in case we get called on to give it. But luckily the first Sunday we were here was fast Sunday, so we didn't need to worry about it. The Tuesday devotional this week was with Elder Oaks and his wife and it was broadcasted from the Provo MTC to here. It was a really great devotional with the focus being on Repentance and the Atonement.

Last night our district celebrated P-day Eve with donuts that Elder Taylor's mom sent him. Oh yeah, by the way, there is this cool website that lets you send packages to me at https://www.mtcmexicocarepackage.com/ if you want to send me some donuts or candy or anything... cough cough...

But uh yeah. The Mexico CCM is super beautiful and it's green everywhere inside the walls. It's quite the contrast being in the CCM and what's just outside the walls. Just earlier this morning we left the CCM to go to Immigration to finish some paperwork or something for our Visas, and the Mexico traffic is literally death-defying. It's weird though, because it took like 1 1/2 - 2 hours to get there, but only an hour to get back. So I don't know how that works.

The food here is pretty good for the most part. It's just the pescado and frijoles that do something to you. There are also these green parrots or some kind of bird that looks pretty cool, but they are super annoying and they make these high-pitched sounds. Overall, I'd say the first like two-three days felt like they would never end, but after Saturday things picked up real quick and time has flown by. Well, a week has flown by atleast.

Anyways, I hope this e-mail wasn't too sporadic, or maybe I do... And there is probably still something I am forgetting to write about, but

I'll send another e-mail with just pictures too.

And yes, apparently there was an earthquake last night. But I slept right through it so I didn't even know... So I'm safe😉

Oh, and I will leave the CCM on October 9 to go into the mission field!

Just some pic of a hill and houses. There is a better hill that has insanely colorful houses, but didn't have a picture yet.
