Felíz Navidad a Todos!!

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night. Wearing  of the Christmas sweater and Christmas glasses Christmas presents - new tie and Mexico socks Note from his Mom - We are really grateful that we got to speak with Elder Turner on Christmas Day. I guess because we talked, he didn't feel the need to write an email too. This was our last Christmas call with Elder Turner! During our call we found out about an altercation that happened to him and his companion by some locals. Now this actually happened earlier in the year, in August. His mission president asked that he not tell us about this until later in his mission. I guess the president was afraid that I might go and get Josh..... maybe or maybe not. So to the altercation. Elder Turner and his companion were walking home, after a day's work of serving the Lord, down a street that was pretty dark. On the other side of the street were 4 men walking the opposite direction. As they got closer, the ...

Christmas Around The Corner

Hey everybody! I got exciting news! NEXT WEEK IS CHRISTMAS!! Wew! Ok,  So this past week went pretty good! We have a focus on getting referrals from members and working with them. And it works great. So, We went about inviting the members when we ate with them to think of people who we could go visit. And we received some pretty good referrals! One of them was this lady named Isabel, who has had some problems with her husband before. She expressed her desire to find Christ and our talk with her went really well. She can progress well! We also received a referral from Chihuahua from a member. The referral was this person's aunt, named Maricela. She is somewhat sick, and wants us to visit her. We just talked with her outside her house for a short time and we are going back tomorrow.  And we talked with Gabriela and her husband too. Though, her husband said to wait until January if Gabriela is going to be baptized to start the year good. So we'll work with them m...

Christmas Time is Here

Hey everyone! How's it going?  So this past week has been good.  First off, we had our appointment with our reference Maria del Rosario. It went really well. She told us a lot about her life and things that she had gone through. We had a little talk about the Plan of Salvation, and left with her saying she will read the pamphlet and pray. The only bad thing was, that she said she would call us to set another appointment. And she didn't call us. So yeah. And then, thursday we had our Christmas activity!! It was really fun! We had a great dinner cooked by Hermana Cahoon and a gift exchange! I got a beanie. And then an activity in the plaza of Monclova for the Light the World initiative. It was cool. And then friday, was a day full of getting soaked and tons of rain. And my comp falling in a pit of water. And just rain. Nice And we also went back for a cita we had with someone, only to find her daughter, whose name is Jatsiy. But pronounced like Yacsi...

Blinded

Hey everyone, how's it going? So maybe the title is over-reacting and an exaggeration, but I'll explain later.  So first off, with the Christmas season and the Light the World intiative, one of the things we did this week was a bit of service for an hermana in our ward. Her sons don't really help her with anything, so we went and helped her clean their house and finish putting up her Christmas tree! It looked good after! And then, we have a new focus of getting referrals from members. So we have been giving out these little referral cards to the members after a short message and service too. We hope that this will bring greater results. I went on interchanges too with Elder Bayona, who was with me in the same district before in Saltillo. So it was cool working with him again. But while I was with him, we started contacting in the morning and he was like, "We gotta contact that house." So we went and contacted it and a lady answered. She told us th...
