The Year and Elder Bednar

Image
HELLO PEOPLES! So first off, this is quite an insane update. But Wednesay, I will be turning a year old in the mission! That is honestly crazy. It hasn't felt like a year has passed at all. But only better things from here!  So first off, Cesar's baptism also fell. So here is an explanation of what happened. So basically, everything was going fine. We had our appointment with them like Tuesday or something making plans for the baptism and interview with Cesar and his family. Then Friday comes up for the interview in the morning, and we get some messages from his mom. Saying like, "It's too early for Cesar to get baptized. He has only gone to church twice. It's too early. Can you wait more? It's too early." So yeah. Basically his mom canceled the baptism for us. Then we went back to talk with them about it, but they weren't there. So we will talk with them tomorrow.  We also had a good talk with Carlos about why his family wanted him to wait too...

Aimar's Baptism, and Hard Families

Image
Hello everyone.  How are you? I am good. Thanks. So most of the past week went great. Except that Carlos's baptism fell through. Once again. But I will explain that later. First lets start off with the good. So the baptism of Aimar went great on Wednesday. I was able to baptize her. And funny story. So that day was also our interviews with President Cahoon. And we told him that we were baptizing later that same day, so he said he would come to it. Then the baptism started late, at like almost 7, and President still didn't arrive. So then after the first part of the program, we go to do the ordinance. And right as I start the prayer, President Cahoon walked into the room. So he got there right on time!:P haha Also, we had received a referral from the church offices. It was a family, named Nilza and Lalo Garcia. We didn't have all the information, but we had their address so we stopped by their house. Which is about the farthest away it could be in...

This Week For Sure

Hello Everyone! So first off. We officially have two baptisms for this week! Aimar, a PF will be baptized this Wednesday at 6! She finally was able to make it to church! It is so awesome to see how much interest she has in the church. She is super inteligent. She told us that she had read the Book of Mormon so we asked her what she read. She then goes on to recount like the first chapter of 1 Nefi perfectly. Even mentioning things that I don't even remember. Super cool. And Carlos will be getting baptized this Friday. This time for sure! He committed to this friday so his family from Monterrey can come. So that will be sweet too! We have tried so hard to get him baptized, and this week. He finally will! So yeah! YEAH! Also, our water situation is now fixed! So that is fantastic too. Anyways. Those are the sweet announcements for the week.  We have also been constantly looking for new people to teach. Though nobody new really stands out right now. But we are always w...

The Bane of the Week

Image
So there seems to be a pattern that we have seen here in Obregón. It seems that during the week, a lot of cool stuff happens. But on Sunday, it is a disappointment. But there was another disappointment too. We still don't have water in our house. But everything will be fine. We had 8 people planned to attend church with us, and out of those 8, only 1 person showed up. Who was Carlos. And that was another disappointment. That he still hasn't gotten baptized. Though we are going to try and do everything possible to baptize him this weekend. Though it is a possibility that he will be out of town. Again.  So this week we started working a little more inteligently. We invited Hno. Garay and his wife to accompany us to an appointment with Silvia. But Silvia wasn't there when we went. Though her husband was and we had a little lesson with him instead. So that was better than nothing.  Then we kept meeting with Aimar last week too, and she really is super smart. She also...
