Aimar's Baptism, and Hard Families
Hello everyone.
How are you? I am good. Thanks.
So most of the past week went great. Except that Carlos's baptism fell through. Once again. But I will explain that later. First lets start off with the good.
So the baptism of Aimar went great on Wednesday. I was able to baptize her. And funny story. So that day was also our interviews with President Cahoon. And we told him that we were baptizing later that same day, so he said he would come to it. Then the baptism started late, at like almost 7, and President still didn't arrive. So then after the first part of the program, we go to do the ordinance. And right as I start the prayer, President Cahoon walked into the room. So he got there right on time!:P haha
Also, we had received a referral from the church offices. It was a family, named Nilza and Lalo Garcia. We didn't have all the information, but we had their address so we stopped by their house. Which is about the farthest away it could be in our area. But nonetheless, we went and they weren't there. So we thought, well we'll just leave a card and tell them to call us to set an appointment. Then, later that day they called us. (This was on Friday). So we set up a time to back with them the next week, and then they asked when and where was church. So we tell them where it is and that it starts at 9. Later we go check out the reference and we find out that Nilza is a less active member. So it's a PF. And normally, part member families can be difficult to get to church. Then comes Sunday. And this family comes and walks in. And we hadn't even met them before. Really cool. They have a very timid 4 year old daughter too. But that was dope to see them come!
Cesar also made it to church too! And during the first class, the teacher asked if he wanted to share anything experiences. And Cesar shares that he was praying a lot about baptism, and that on Saturday he made the decision to do it. So this Saturday, Cesar should be getting baptized. And his family seems to not be against us either. So that is a really good thing.
But then comes Carlos. So monday he had his interview, and he passed it! So we were all excited and ready for his baptism on friday. Then apparently, his family told him they want to talk. And then they say that they support him, but it's still too soon. And then, his family that are members also said he should wait too. AAAAGGHHHHH!! Super frustrating. Carlos is super prepared and ready. But his family is keeping him back. Even his member family! WHY??? So yeah. We don't know when he will get baptized. But we won't give up on him yet.
Anyways. That's the update for this week! Mostly great stuff! Except for Carlos. But ni modo. Today we also went to this mall in Saltillo with Elder Sams and Elder Blaylock. So that was fun.
Peace out everyone. Love you all!
