The Year and Elder Bednar
HELLO PEOPLES! So first off, this is quite an insane update. But Wednesay, I will be turning a year old in the mission! That is honestly crazy. It hasn't felt like a year has passed at all. But only better things from here!
So first off, Cesar's baptism also fell. So here is an explanation of what happened. So basically, everything was going fine. We had our appointment with them like Tuesday or something making plans for the baptism and interview with Cesar and his family. Then Friday comes up for the interview in the morning, and we get some messages from his mom. Saying like, "It's too early for Cesar to get baptized. He has only gone to church twice. It's too early. Can you wait more? It's too early." So yeah. Basically his mom canceled the baptism for us. Then we went back to talk with them about it, but they weren't there. So we will talk with them tomorrow.
We also had a good talk with Carlos about why his family wanted him to wait too. And basically with that, it is a family problem that can't really be explained very well over email. But that should be settled soon. So, we'll see when his baptism will be.
Then, on to a super cool story. So, remember this family, Lalo and Nilza Garcia? Well some cool coincidences. Or I guess, not coincidences, but things that were meant to be. If you could say that:P
So let's start. So the reference was sent from a one Stephen Davis Black who had a 435 number. And I was like, wait. I recognize that area code. That's St. George! So we went to our first cita with them on Tuesday. And after we got talking, we find out more about their life and give them a Plan of Salvation pamphlet. Then we come back and talk some more. And we ask them about who this person was that referred them. Apparently it's her soon to be brother-in-law. So that is cool. Someone from St. George referred this family to us. Then, we find out more about Nilza's past with the church too. And the Elder that baptized her was an Elder from St. George as well. And then, me. And Elder from St. George goes and finds her anew once again. Pretty crazy cool stuff.
We also found some new people to teach. Well, new old people to teach. Because they are old investigators. But anyways. One of them is a PF Alison. And there is this other family, who consists of Genaro the dad, Josefina the mom, and some other kids. They are really nice and cool. That's all I have to say about that.
And finally, well I think I had something more to say but I forgot. Oh yeah. So my package to celebrate a year got to me on Sunday. This lady showed up with it and pulled me out of Elder's Quorum to open it. So that was kind of funny!:P Thanks for the package and the hearts and the puns and the candy and the tie and the shirt and the swedish fish! Love you fam!!
And also, this week we will be having a mission conference with Elder David A. Bednar on Friday! That is going to be such an amazing experience! More to come on that later!
Anyways. That raps this letter up. Love you all! Hope everything is going fantastic!
