Angelica's Baptism

Image
Hey everybody! How's it been?  So this past week went good! I hope you all enjoyed this easter weekend! I am grateful for the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for all of us. And I am also grateful that everyone will have the chance to live again.  So Angelica was able to get baptized yesterday! And Jesus almost got baptized, but didn't because of fear. So right now we don't know when his baptism will be, but we are going to figure it out! But from the time that we have met Angelica till now, she has changed a lot! It is really cool to see how she has grown a desire to change and be better! The interesting thing is, that the nearest church to her is about 4 hours away. So when she goes back to her home, she probably won't be able to go to church that much. But we are planning on giving her a bunch of stuff to read and study up on! So it's kind of cool!  We have also been visiting a lot of recent converts and members, trying to help them out and trying...

Miracles

Image
Hey everybody! How have you all been? So this past week in Satelite was really, really, really fantastic!!! It has been really cool to be with Elder Montiel again and also get to know Elder Brooke more! We all get along really well! But let's talk about this past week and everything that has happened. First off, we had 6 BAPTISMS!!!! So let me explain how it happened. When I got to the area, we didn't have any fechas with anyone. But, Elder Montiel and Elder Brooke were teaching these 4 kids who are the kids of a less-active. So we went to the grandma's house to see if we can find these 4 kids, Felipe, Jesus, Jose, and Maria. They weren't there, but their mom's sister was there in bed from surgery with 3 of her daughters, Tereza, Liz and Dariana (twins) all living at their grandma's house for now. We taught them about baptism, and showed them a video of Jesus getting baptized using the projector, and they accepted! Then we went to the house of their cous...

Conference and Trios

Image
Hello everyone, so this past conference was amazing! It seemed to me that there was a common theme of study in the home, repentance, and treating others with love. It has been one of my favorite conferences!! Also, I have news! Last night we got a call from one of the assistants, and Elder Sandoval is being changed to Nueva Rosita. We all thought that both of us would get changed, but they never told me anything. But, like 30 minutes later we get another call from the assistant, and this time it was for me. I am getting changed back to Saltillo!! I am going to barrio Satelite in the Republica zone. Here's what's also cool though, I am going to another trio, with Elder Montiel-Bravo my old comp and Elder Brooke. I am excited to go there! But I am also sad that I am leaving Tecnologico and Monclova... Anyways, that's how life is. Full of changes. So this past week went ok. We spent a lot of time trying to find new people to teach in an area that we haven't been in...

The Adversary Works Hard

So this past week wasn't as good as the past one was, unfortunately.  So, we had the fecha for Daniel on saturday, But it fell through. We had a good talk with him the day before, and basically it's from some doubts that he has from the situation with his wife and family. We haven't rescheduled his baptism, but we are going to have an FHE with him and his family this week. During the week, we also put a fecha with Edwin, one of the bishop's nephews for saturday as well. He is 11, so he needed his parent's permission. And unfortunately they didn't let him get baptized. But we still are working with him! But, the activity went well on saturday! There wasn't as many people as last week, but it still went great! We had 4 people come to church! They were Edwin, Santiago, Dillan, and Jose. Santiago is Edwin's brother, and Dillan is their cousin. Jose is the son of a member that we have tried visiting for quite a while now, but we haven't been...

Three's a Crowd

Image
Hey everybody, so this past week was super exciting with a bunch of cool stuff. So let's get right into it! So first off, last monday at around 9 the assistant called us and said that we are getting a new companion, Elder Brown. So we are now in a trio! He is somewhat new to the mission We met with Daniel during the week. We had 2 good lessons with him, and invited him to be baptized this weekend, and he accepted! Then, Saturday and Sunday we lost contact with him and he didn't go to church. But we are going to meet with him again on tuesday! Then, we also met with Margarita. She is gaining more interest and, came to church with us on Sunday! It was cool!  And then, we found Perla and Diana during the week. We visited them one day and talked with them about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and invited them to be baptized. Perla was a little doubtful about it. Then we went back two days later and we were more direct. I shared a scripture with them, and then la...

The one mutual to rule them all.

Hey everybody! So this past week went well! So let's go over it in no specific order. First, the mutual on saturday went great! We had some of the same jovenes from two weeks ago, since last week we didn't have it, as well as 1 other new kid, Dylan, who is 8 years old (the bishop's nephew). It was funny because he was always trying to slide and block everyone while playing soccer!! We also played some volleyball as well! It went great! And then on sunday, we had someone new show up. His name is Daniel. He is the bishop's son-in-law. He has a big interest in improving his life, and we are going to have an FHE with the bishops family tonight and a cita with Daniel tomorrow. We also invited Margarita to baptism, and she said that she would like to get baptized. This week we are going to go over the commandments to help see how we can prepare her! Oh, and in other news, this past week was my birthday! It went great! Monday we celebrated a bit with anothe...

Quick Update

Image
Hey everybody. So this email is going to be a bit shorter. So this past week we were able to talk with Perla and Diana again, because she came back from Saltillo. She is going through some hard times, but she is very receptive to us and is open to learn more. Though they didn't make it church, which was sad. But they can progress! We also found out that someone who has been coming to church recently isn't a member and she wants to get baptized! Her name is Norma. Although she has some trials to work through before that can happen, but we are there to help her through it! We also have a few other people who can progress, it's just a matter of getting in contact with them that is hard. But we are working hard! Also it was zone conference this past week! It went great! We also played some wall ball, which I hadn't played in like forever! It all was a really good experience!  Anyways, I love you all! Keep going strong! -Elder Shwa Turne...
