Miracles

Hey everybody! How have you all been?

So this past week in Satelite was really, really, really fantastic!!! It has been really cool to be with Elder Montiel again and also get to know Elder Brooke more! We all get along really well! But let's talk about this past week and everything that has happened.

First off, we had 6 BAPTISMS!!!! So let me explain how it happened. When I got to the area, we didn't have any fechas with anyone. But, Elder Montiel and Elder Brooke were teaching these 4 kids who are the kids of a less-active. So we went to the grandma's house to see if we can find these 4 kids, Felipe, Jesus, Jose, and Maria. They weren't there, but their mom's sister was there in bed from surgery with 3 of her daughters, Tereza, Liz and Dariana (twins) all living at their grandma's house for now. We taught them about baptism, and showed them a video of Jesus getting baptized using the projector, and they accepted! Then we went to the house of their cousins, because we found out that they were home and talked with them too, and set fechas with them as well! All for saturday after the session of Stake Conference at night. And as we went through the week gaining more of their trust and confidence, well it all worked out! 6 of the 7 got baptized (Felipe, Jose, Maria, Tereza, Liz, and Dariana)!

But, the story doesn't end here.
So, we went on divisions with our ward mission leader, because we were three, the day of the baptism. The mission leader and Elder Montiel went to go get Tereza, Liz, and Dariana, while Elder Brooke and I went to go get the others (everyone minus Jesus because he left to work). And when we arrived, three of them arrived at the same time, but one of them was someone that we had never seen before. So we talk with them, and find out that the person who was there is visiting for like a week or two, and she is the sister of the mom's husband. Her name is Angelica and she is from San Luis Potosí. We asked her if she wanted to come with us to the stake conference, and she said sure. So we all went to the stake conference, and after a few stressful scares, she and one of the kids had left to go to the Oxxo. So me and Elder Brooke went to go find them, and Angelica told us that she was a bored, and then asked us a question about baptism. We explained to her about baptism and repentance, and many things. But she seemed indifferent about religion and stuff. So then, after the baptisms, Angelica goes up to my companion Elder Brooke, and asks him what she needs to do to get baptized, because she felt something inside. And we were like "What is going on right now?" It was awesome! But she is from San Luis, so we are going to see if we can get permission to baptize her here before she goes back home, and then send her records to where she lives and contact the missionaries over there! But we'll see how it goes!
We also talked with Jesus on sunday, and we scheduled a time to baptize him this week on friday!

So yeah. It was quite the amazing week here in Saltillo. I still don't really know many people here in the ward, because it was Stake Conference, but I am excited to be here, because I will probably finish the mission here in Satelite.
But during the district meeting, one of the zone leaders came and explained something to us that helped us basically baptize these 6 kids, with more to follow. And it was simple. Stop knocking doors, and start working with members, less-actives, and recent converts. So that is our main focus. The whole mission has changed a lot from last year to this year, and the main reason is because of the focus we have on members and youth. So I can bear witness to you, the youth and the members are key.

I hope you all have a fantastic week! Keep going strong! I love and miss you all!
