Three's a Crowd

Image
Hey everybody, so this past week was super exciting with a bunch of cool stuff. So let's get right into it! So first off, last monday at around 9 the assistant called us and said that we are getting a new companion, Elder Brown. So we are now in a trio! He is somewhat new to the mission We met with Daniel during the week. We had 2 good lessons with him, and invited him to be baptized this weekend, and he accepted! Then, Saturday and Sunday we lost contact with him and he didn't go to church. But we are going to meet with him again on tuesday! Then, we also met with Margarita. She is gaining more interest and, came to church with us on Sunday! It was cool!  And then, we found Perla and Diana during the week. We visited them one day and talked with them about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and invited them to be baptized. Perla was a little doubtful about it. Then we went back two days later and we were more direct. I shared a scripture with them, and then la...

The one mutual to rule them all.

Hey everybody! So this past week went well! So let's go over it in no specific order. First, the mutual on saturday went great! We had some of the same jovenes from two weeks ago, since last week we didn't have it, as well as 1 other new kid, Dylan, who is 8 years old (the bishop's nephew). It was funny because he was always trying to slide and block everyone while playing soccer!! We also played some volleyball as well! It went great! And then on sunday, we had someone new show up. His name is Daniel. He is the bishop's son-in-law. He has a big interest in improving his life, and we are going to have an FHE with the bishops family tonight and a cita with Daniel tomorrow. We also invited Margarita to baptism, and she said that she would like to get baptized. This week we are going to go over the commandments to help see how we can prepare her! Oh, and in other news, this past week was my birthday! It went great! Monday we celebrated a bit with anothe...

Quick Update

Hey everybody. So this email is going to be a bit shorter. So this past week we were able to talk with Perla and Diana again, because she came back from Saltillo. She is going through some hard times, but she is very receptive to us and is open to learn more. Though they didn't make it church, which was sad. But they can progress! We also found out that someone who has been coming to church recently isn't a member and she wants to get baptized! Her name is Norma. Although she has some trials to work through before that can happen, but we are there to help her through it! We also have a few other people who can progress, it's just a matter of getting in contact with them that is hard. But we are working hard! Also it was zone conference this past week! It went great! We also played some wall ball, which I hadn't played in like forever! It all was a really good experience!  Anyways, I love you all! Keep going strong! -Elder Shwa Turne...

Focusing on Youth

Image
Hey everyone! How have you all been? So this past week was tranquilo, as they say. Our focus was looking for less-actives and inviting youth to the mutual on saturday.  We found a few people during the week that showed some great promise! And had lessons with a few others! There is a less active member that we found 2 weeks ago, Jose (who owns the DJ stuff), and his girlfriend Margarita that has a small daughter. We visited Jose and Margarita this past week and it went great! We talked about the different chapters that they read in the Book of Mormon and then the next time we talked about the Restoration. Margarita is really receptive and interested in learning more. Unfortunately, they didn't make it to church. But they are really cool! This week we plan on teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ and law of Chastity. We also met this other guy, who we ended up talking with for quite a while, and it was an interesting experience. That's about all I can say about that. ...
