Hey everyone! How are you all? So this past week has been great! We have had more baptisms this month in the whole mission than any other month! So let's talk about that. So we have started going through the list of members again, and we have found various people and PF's. We also visited a less active member who has 2 daughters that aren't baptized, and he said he wants them to get baptized. He only has them on the weekends, so we are going to visit them this weekend to see if they are there. We also visited another less-active member that is really cool and owns like DJ stuff. So that was awesome. And then, there is another child that is turning 9 this week, so we are working with his family so that he can get baptized too! So hopefully he will get baptized soon! We met with Gabriela and Noe two times this week, and one of the times turned into us helping Noe with math problems ðŸ˜‚. And then the next time we helped Noe and Gabriela set up their LDS accounts so ...

Elena's Baptism

Image
So hello again after the short break! So Elena's baptism went great! To refresh you all on who Elena is, she is the girlfriend of the Stake President's son. She has been with the missionaries for about 7 months til this point, and because of some certain issues she didn't get baptized until now. It is honestly incredible to see how much of a conversion she has had to the gospel. You would think that she has been a member all her life if you met her. But yeah. So her boyfriend Elian baptized and confirmed her. Also, the stake president had replaced the boiler during the past week so that the water could be hot. But, we don't keys to where the boiler is. So we couldn't turn it on anyways. So the water was still cold! But yeah, hopefully we will get some keys for that for next time... haha. We also had a cita with Gabriela and Noe with another family in our ward. We started talking about temples and family history, but then it turned into Noe and the other ...

Fantastic Week

Image
So this past week went really great!  Gabriela's baptism went good! Though it turned out to be quite the adventure. So her entrevista went good on friday, and saturday was when we went to check out everything for the font for sunday, because sunday was when the baptism was before the services. Mostly, we just needed to make sure that the boiler worked and then clean the font. So the boilers here to heat up the water for the font turn on when the water starts going through. But we ran into a problem. The boiler is wayyyyy too small for the font and the large amount of water that comes through. So basically our baptismal font never has hot water. So, we started brainstorming, praying, and calling people to figure out how we could heat up the water. What we ended up doing was buying some resistencias (which are like sticks with large metal rods that heat up) and extension cords to try and heat up the font. So after arriving to the church on Sunday at like 7 in the morning, we plug...

El Tiempo del Señor

Hey guys, back again!  Well Elena's baptism didn't go through this week. But I'll explain that. So let's walk through what happened this past week. So monday, we went and talked with Elena's mom. And Elena's mom didn't know that Elena was going to get baptized that weekend, so we went to talk with her. After talking with her, we called Elena to tell what happened, and she said that her and her mom would talk to figure out when the baptism was going to be. Also Gerardo wasn't there because he was out of town for work. Tuesday, We had some citas with some part-member families and then ward council. Nothing too much to report. Wednesday, nothing really.  Thursday, we wake up to a message from Elena that says her and her mom talked and set the date for her baptism for the 17th of February. So that is now a set date. We also had citas with Carmen, but she wasn't there, Uriel and his family who are members, and Gabriela and Noe. We ta...
