Día de Acción de Gracias

Hey everyone! I'm back! So this past (half) week was alright.  On Thursday, Thanksgiving, we ate hamburgers. Nice. And then we had a cita in a far away place, and we got to her house and she rescheduled on us, so then we walked all the way back to the other end for some other citas that weren't there! But hey, we did find some good people that day! And then a member made dinner for us, tacos of eggs with beans. Nice And then Friday, after finding a few more people, We went to go buy a small dinner, when this guy calls for us from his truck. He was drinking and smoking, and asked us if we had eaten dinner. We said no, and so he paid for our dinner. After talking to him for quite some time, and his life's troubles, We talked about Jesus Christ and how he knows everything that we feel and suffer. We gave him a Book of Mormon and a Gospel of Jesus Christ pamphlet to help him out. He didn't want to let us stop by his house, so we told him to call us the next day t...

Putting Aside Desires

Image
Hey everyone! So sorry this email is late, but our P-day was changed due to zone conference on monday. So I am emailing today! This past week was quite great. And let's see why.  So, last week, we were contacting in a colony that is very far from where we live. Like the other side of our area around 7PM. We found a couple people that seem promising, and around 8 I thought that we had found enough people for that day and wanted to start heading back home. But I didn't tell my companion that, and after thinking a bit more, I realized that we still have time to find more people. So we kept going, and shortly after, we knock on this door and a lady, Erica, answers. I saw that she was close by the door with her daughter on the inside, discussing something. After introducing ourselves and talking a bit, she told us that when she saw us out the window she knew that God had put us there for a reason. So she left to speak with us, She was passing through a trial with her daughter...

Slow and Steady

Hey friends and family!  So this past week was quite slow, and cold, and still good.  One thing from the past week, was that we started contacting more using the Book of Mormon. Before, it was usually a typical contact asking them about their beliefs, and who they are. But we started contacting people using the Book of Mormon as a base. And I think we are going to keep doing that too!  But another thing, that was rather sad, was that nearly all of the citas we had fell through. The whole week. Except for like 3 or something like that. So we have to work better than that. Also, there was a special broadcast for all of Mexico on Sunday, presided by Elder Rasband. And it was fantastic. It spoke a lot about the importance of temples, and always having a valid temple recommend. Other General Authorities also spoke for the conference.  Today, for p-day, we got together with the missionaries from our district at the chapel and played some games and ate s...

Celebration Week

Image
What's going on everybody?  So this past week was rather eventful, full of hopes and broken dreams, and the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. Ok, ok, ok. That might be a bit of an overstatement and exaggeration. But let's get into it.  So, the week was rather slow, at the start. Mostly because of Halloween on Wednesday, and then Dia de Muerte after. So finding people and going to citas and actually finding them at home was hard. BUT, I continue.  We had hopes of baptizing Gabriela last weekend, but it didn't fly. Gabriela was injured during work and has to take some days to heal up, and then her husband worked longer hours than normal, so we couldn't even go to visit them and finish teaching the lessons. But hopefully, this weekend we can hold her baptism! And then, Elena, the JAS who is basically a member already but hasn't been baptized yet, has hopes of getting baptized on the 19th of November, because she has a vacation day from school...
