Hey people!

Hey people! Welcome back to my weekly letter! Let's get into it! So one of the days we worked with a member, Abinadi, and he helped us with one of the citas we had. We taught this lady named Jessi, and we had a short discussion about prophets. And we were talking about the importance of what a prophet does, and how he receives modern-day revelation. And she replies, "Like Joseph Smith and how he translated the Book of Mormon." And we were like wow! Because that was our first lesson with her. And then, while we were using our strategy to look for new people to teach, we found someone named Mizuke. Mizuke is the wife of a member, and we taught her the Plan of Salvation, and she was very receptive. We hope that she can progress well and go to church with us this week! And then, there was this house that we passed by again this week that we had contacted the week before, And this time, we found the mom of the teenager from last week, and she told us that she wants...

Conferencia de Salud

Hello everyone! How are you all? This past week we worked a lot to find more people, and more intelligently too! So let's talk about that! So first off, we had a plan to use the list of members to look for less-actives and at the same time new investigators. And it is pretty effective actually. We had color coded the whole list according to the area that they lived, and then started contacting them according to where our citas are by street. So we started doing that. It works great! Though here in Mexico, a lot of houses don't have numbers on them. So sometimes finding the right house is hard. But thats what we did! Knocking on the houses directly. Talking to their neighbors. Trying to find the right house. It worked well!  We even found this lady named Daniela, who is the daughter of a member. And Daniela also has an 8 year old son too! They can progress pretty well!  We also had an FHE with Noe, who is a member, and his wife Gabriela, who isn't. After the ...

Cambios Extraños

Hey everyone! So, monday night I got a call from the assistants. And basically, I have been changed to Monclova, in barrio Tecnologico. So that was very unexpected, but now I am here and it will be a cool experience.  My new companion is Elder Sandoval. He is from Texas and already spoke spanish before! He is cool! So now that I am here in Tecno, I'll see if I can update you on all the people we have. So first, there is this young woman named Elena who is 18, I believe. Anyways, she has already been taught everything, and was going to get baptized the week before I got here, but then it didn't happen. So basically, she wants to have both of her parents there for the baptism. And the problem is, that her dad can't do it on the weekends, and Elena can't do it during the week because she studies in Monterrey. So that will probably have to happen in November during vacation time.  There are also a few other people too. The husband of an hermana in the ward isn...

General Conference

Image
What's up everyone? So this past weekend was incredible with General Conference! Plus, a temple in Washington County Utah! Shoutout to my home! It was a fantastic conference with a lot of great talks! But there isn't much else to say, unfortunately. Except that we had 3 people come with us to watch it for one session! So remember Sergio? The man that is athiest? Well, he didn't come. But his family did. His wife Patricia, his daughter Sofia, and his son Sergio all came. But actually, it was the first time we met his son Sergio. And man, is he a typical teenager who doesn't want anything. Ya know, like making typical comments about not wanting to be there. But his mom and his sister really enjoyed it. So that was cool. They came to the Saturday morning session. They are catholics, but I believe they can progress really well! Other than that. I don't have much to say. Our water problems have ceased. But we still can't shower normally. Enjoy this picture fr...

You have not been baptized?

What's up peoples.  So this past week was good. So let's get into it.  First of all, we visited our atheist friend Sergio and his family again last week. And we got to talk with his wife and his other daughter as well! They are a very open family, and like 2 of them are catholics, and their other daughter is like undecided in religion. We had a good discussion about the Plan of Salvation, full of savage comments by Sergio and his daughter, like "Ayy ella es bien chiflada." Cool family. Then we contacted someone that me and Elder Garcia had contacted before, named Oralia. When we contacted her, she wasn't too interested. But now, she is pretty interested. While we were talking with her, she told us that she doesn't know what to do anymore, religion wise. She had stopped going to her church a while back. She also has 4 boys, ages 8-12. They have good potential! And then, Mousa, the African Muslim PF, came to church with us again this week! He is ...
