Weekend of Milagritos

Hello peoples of the universe. It is I, Elder Turner.
So like the title states, this weekend was something a little special.

And it got to the point where we were just like, "what is happening right now?"

It started Saturday afternoon after we found a super nice younger lady who runs a little boutique in her house. She always has family and friends over, but she was super friendly and said she'll make time for us. And then later we were walking by this house about to knock it, when this drunk guy walks out the gate. We start talking to him a little, and we say that we are missionaries here to preach the word of God. Then immediately he opens the gate and tells us that his mom has been crying. So we go in and see his mom crying because she was feeling alone. After singing a hymn and talking a little bit, they said that God sent us here for a reason to help them. Then after we started walking away from that visit, this guy yells at us and signals us to come. So we go and he, his wife and his daughter were selling elotes and they gave us some for free. They didn't seem too interested in what we had, but they said their cousins are Mormons and wanted to help us out. Then we also bought these two other guys elotes because Elder Garcia thought they were going to try and rob us. So that was interesting.

Then Sunday comes. So we go to church that morning, and during the first hour, we leave to go the bathroom really quick and there is someone that we contacted standing there outside the door to the chapel. We were like, "Woah, you came!" So we sat with him for the rest of the first hour. Then in between classes, one of the brothers from Guayulera says that he has a reference for us in a little tienda by the chapel and he wants to go with him right now. So we go down there and we give the guy, Cesar, a Book of Mormon and put a cita with him for later today. He is super interested in the Book of Mormon too. Plus Lucy came to church too, who we are still working with to get baptized on 28th.

Then today, we ate some gorditas, played some billiards, and walked around Centro for a while looking at stuff.

That's all I got for this week. It's great being here in Saltillo, where the heat is a little less than Sabinas was, and even still there are coldish days. But until next time! Love you all!

(Pictures- Oh yeah, and we helped the Hermanas make some cheesecakes. So there is that. And the elote. And me and my hat :D)
