The Fruit of Our Labor

HOW'S IT GOING EVERYONE? Sorry, I got a little excited. How are things wherever everyone is at? I hope they're great!  So first things first. Alejandro was baptized yesterday on Sunday! He is a super awesome kid and his dad, a convert of about a year and a half or so, was able to baptize him! Hector with his son Alejandro Scrambling to get everything set up for the baptismal service was a little stressful, but it turned out really great! And a good amount of members stayed for the baptism as well!  And then after the baptism, we went to go eat at a member's house, and then went to the bus station because Elder Hayden had to go to Saltillo to sign papers for his visa. So yeah, Sunday was a pretty busy day. Then Elder Hayden returned this morning at like 3:30. So that was fun getting up in the middle of the night to go pick him up!:p jaja We had another of our investigators come to church this sunday, Janet! We had just found her and her boyfri...

The First Week of Transfers

Image
Hey y'all! Whater y'all up to? I hear the home stake will be getting a new stake presidency! That's pretty exciting! Though I'll miss the old one. And apparently Kassidy got married!?  ยก FELICIDADES! So this past week was alright. Our branch had two little activities, one on friday and another on saturday. The one on friday was a family activity for el dรญa del amor y la amistad, or in english, Single's Awareness Day. And on saturday, it was a dance/dinner thing for adults. And for both of those, we had one investigator come!! Tis the life of the mission. And sorry, I don't have any pictures of that... The new elder in Sabinas 1 is Elder Feria from Sonora! Which is like two states away from Coahuila! So that's cool.  We have two new families that we have just contacted last week. One of them is just a mom and her daughter, and the other is the parents and like 4 kids and the husband of one of the daughters (though we don't know if they are mar...

The Last Week of Transfers

Image
Back once again for another week (and transfer) of the life of the mission of the area of Sabinas 1-B of the District of Sabinas of the Zone of Nueva Rosita of the Mission Saltillo Mexico. Whew. So a bunch of stuff happened and a lot of back and forth between areas this past week. Thursday I was with Elder Escobedo in Sabinas 2, working with him. And then Saturday I went with Elder Diaz to work in the other half of Sabinas 1! It's kinda nice having a little break from English and having to talk Spanish! It definitely helps to learn faster. That being said, here is another transfer with Elder Hayden!  Last week while we were in Las Palmas, I felt like we needed to stop by a contact that me and Elder Garcia had made in December. So we stop by and she answers the door. After a little bit of talking, she says, "Why haven't you guys came back yet? Last time you were here was the 22nd or 23rd of December." So she remembered almost exactly the day that we talked with...

The Week of Promise. Or Something Like That.

Welcome back to my weekly update on the life in Sabinas! Something amazing happened this last week. Something that I haven't had since I've gotten here in Sabinas.  WE HAVE OUR OWN WASHING MACHINE!!!! ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽŠWOOO๐ŸŽŠ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰ Me, my washer, and I. I'm so happy. We have our own washing machine now.  And it is fully automatic. Which means that even if you open the lid to check it, it doesn't stop. It just keeps going without stopping!๐Ÿ˜‹ (Yes He sent 3 of the same picture!) In other news, we weren't able to teach Alejandro this week, because his dad Hector was super busy with his work.  But this week we are definitely going to teach him and try to have a baptismal service this Sunday after church for him.  If everything goes well, it will be this Sunday!  Unfortunately, Alejandro was our only investigator at church this Sunday, so that was kind of a bummer. But we have quite a few more potential investigators that could come to ...
