A Marvelous Work and A Wonder... And Zone Conference

Image
How's it going everybody? So I got some news this week. Good news, if you will. So let's get on with it!!! First off, Zone Conference was on Friday, which took up like the whole day because we had interviews the same day after the conference and we were playing volleyball. So that was fun! But I don't have any pictures so that's nice. But Zone Conference was really, really good. It was all about faith and obedience, which are two of the main principles of missionary work. We also talked about 3 of the things that nearly all missionaries struggle with, which was from a talk by Elder Holland that he gave in the MTC some odd years ago. And basically, Elder Holland knows missionaries very well.  Next thing. So Hector has two kids, ages 11 and 8, who aren't members. He has been bringing them to church the past few Sundays, and this Sunday we were able to talk with him and his two kids about teaching them. Though his daughter, 8, wouldn't be a "convert...

Progress and Work, aka, The Usual

Back once again with another thingy describing my past week! Feel free to give me suggestions to improve my emails, because I have no idea if they are good or not. ANYWAYS, how has everything gone for everyone? Things seem to be getting better back home! Also, ¡FELIZ CUMPLEAÑOS PADRE y HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!  Shoutout to my dad whose Birthday is this SUNDAY and a great 33 years of marriage to my parents!!  Love you both!! So we are now 4 weeks into this change! WOW it's going by fast! But we still don't have new agendas so we have been using the empty space we can find in our old agenda to schedule everything we need to do. So that's fun!! En martes we watched the broadcast of the new First Presidency, and I give my full support and sustain President Russell M. Nelson as Prophet and President of this Church, as well as President Oaks and President Eyring as counselors. President Thomas S. Monson was an incredible person and leader, and I will miss his presence and his s...

Another Interesting Week In Sabinas... As Always

Hey folks! Welcome back to another go of things! So this week was kind of a bummer. Jose and his family aren't able to come to church because he has to take care of his mom who broke her leg recently. So until her leg heals, or his other family members can take care of her on Sundays, they won't be able to come to church. The good thing is though, that it is only temporary. But their baptism date might have to be moved back depending on if they can get to church or not. So long story short, we didn't have any investigators at church yesterday.  On the good side of things, I think I ate some the best chicken I've ever eaten this past week with a less active. And he came to church too! So we may not have had an investigator there, but we got him there! His name is Hector is he is super padre.  So that was Thursday night, and then Friday to like mid Sunday we were in a trio with an Elder in Sabinas 2, Elder Schoenberger, because his comp had to go to Saltillo ...

It's A Monday... New Change. New Comp.

This past week has been pretty sweet! So 3 of our investigators, Jose, and his 2 kids Diego and Camila, all committed to be baptized on February 3rd! They have been reading the Book the Mormon and praying together as a family and have been progressing pretty well! They still have yet to come to church, but they committed to go this Sunday! Also, another 3 of our investigators are committed to come to church this Sunday too! We are going to try and get a baptismal date with them this week as well! Things are definitely looking up! Also, Elder Hayden and I are kinda sorta the same person. We are both white, wear glasses, and love movies and board games. And we are both from a place called Washington. Him being from Washington state and me being Washington City, but hey that's cool! New comp A River What else is new? Well we now have a little hot plate so we can atleast cook eggs or pancakes or something! We also talked with our landlords about getting a washin...

¡FELIZ NUEVO AÑO! and a lot of changes...

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! Let's get down to business.  So my companion Elder Garcia had to go home because of an illness, which was a crazy experience (that I am not going to go into) and pretty sad, so I spent the week with Elder Atkin and Elder Diaz. Then this morning we found out what the changes are going to be, and tomorrow my new companion arrives. Elder Hayden! Both of our Zone Leaders changed, and one of my brothers in the mission, Elder Reed, is one of our new Zone Leaders! Which is insane because he has the same time as me and Elder Atkin and and he is also training someone at the same time! But I'm gonna miss our old Zone Leaders Elders Lorenzo and Alarcon... And Elder Oldham...  The past change has been a bit rough, but I am looking forward to my new companion and the new year. But since I didn't get a lot of time to say goodbye to Elder Garcia, Adios Elder! Thanks for the training and suffering through not having a washer with me. Love you man! Now to th...
