#IluminaElMundo and SNOW???
The Old Professor Look
So this past week has been insane. The first snow that Sabinas has seen in apparently 15 years, and an awesome Friday to Saturday stay in Piedras Negras for Ilumina El Mundo. So let's get started shall we?
So Tuesday we had District Meeting and one of the Zone Leaders, Elder Alarcon, came with us for the day. It was awesome and one of our investigators that we visited, Roberto, is showing really good signs of progression. Though him coming on Sundays will be hard because he goes to Muzquiz to visit his son on Sundays. Then on Wednesday, one of the new investigators we found we talked to for like an hour about various things in our Church, from the Restoration, to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to even temples and marriage. We believe that is really prepared.
Then on Thursday, it was freezing. But we went to the baptism for Rufina, which was one of Elder Atkin's and Elder Diaz's investigators, and I gave a super short talk on the Holy Ghost, because it was in Spanish. Then, after the baptism and as we were walking home, we stopped at a store to buy a few items we needed. When we walked outside the store to go home, it was snowing outside. IT WAS SNOWING OUTSIDE! AND THEN A LIGHT FIXTURE SIGN THING SPARKED. AND I GOT IT ON CAMERA! Crazy, crazy stuff.
But the next day the snow was gone.

So yeah, then we took a bus to Piedras Negras that was about 2-3 hours long and went to the Stake Center there to start. We had a really big meal, thanks to the cooking of Hermana Cahoon, with really good ham and potatoes and corn and salad. Then a little devotional about our Savior Jesus Christ and his birth and some songs by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and David Archuleta. Then we had a little gift exchange and I got 3 new ties! Pretty sweet! And everyone also got their jerseys for this year! It's an awesome thing that our President does for us, we all paid for our jerseys, and it has a little logo of the mission along with our names and year on the back.

Then we all left to go the plaza for a big night of contacting and bringing in people to show the Light the World videos and Books of Mormon and the lesson pamphlets. It was an awesome night there! And then 6 of us, Elders Garcia, Cunningham, Gordon, Reed (one of my mission brothers), and Taylor (my old CCM comp and my mission brother) all piled into a member's tiny car to go spend the night at the Elder's house. Luckily the ride wasn't too far, but was still a distance.
Then Saturday we all came back from Piedras Negras and went back to work in our areas. It was actually a good day because talked with all of the appointments we had for that Saturday afternoon and many of them seem to have a lot of interest.
Sunday went pretty normal as usual, with church and the confirmation of Rufina. And then after we ate at the Branch President's house, and they always have good food and a dessert. Which this time was brownies!!! I missed brownies...
But yeah. Lots of traveling. Lots of cold. Little bit of snow. Pretty different week from normal. Well. I'll see you all next time. Or, I'll write you all next time.
Love you all! Keep doing right!
