A Broken Toilet and a Bleeding Finger (Vol. 1)

So needless to say, it seems that nearly every P-day there is something that just makes it a pain. So here goes... My name is Elder Turner and this is my story.

It was 3 am. I had woken up with the need to go to the bathroom. So I went, flushed the toilet, got back in bed, and everything was good. 5 minutes pass, and a CRACK sound fills the room, followed by the gushing of water coming from our bathroom. I jump out of bed not knowing what lies ahead. I turn on the lights and see water seeping from the toilet tank and spreading out on the ground of our bathroom. Luckily, our bathroom has about an inch of a lip from the kitchen, so water wasn't in danger of spreading that way, but nevertheless, this was a disaster. So I quickly turned off the water valve to the toilet and then ran outside to grab the mop to start pushing the water towards the shower. In the midst of rapidly pushing the water, I look down and see my middle finger bleeding without any idea of how it started. Well that's just fantastic... So after cleaning up my finger and putting a bandage on it, I flushed the toilet to get rid of the rest of the water that was in the tank so it wouldn't leak. Now that our toilet stopped leaking, I woke up Elder Garcia to tell him the great news of a cracked toilet. After examining the scene, we determined that the best course of action was to just go back to sleep and deal with it in the morning. So that's what we did.

Now let's review, we now have a half-broken toilet (though it still works), and my left middle finger has a little gash on it and I still have no idea how it happened. Oh, and we ran out gas, so we had to get that replaced as well. But hey, it could be worse.

So anyways, that's how our morning went. How was yours?

So we lost one of our progressing investigators, Luis, so that was a bummer this week. But we'll still go around every once in a while and check on him. But on the brighter side, we started working in new parts of our area, namely Agujita, that we hadn't been before and found some new people with great potential. We are looking forward to see what that area brings!

Also, as Elder Bradshaw had in his email with the little action figures from Nitos, I actually found a place that sells them here! So that was cool! I now have a little Superman action figure, so that's cool. Though I hear that the Justice League was terrible from my bro-in-law Cody. But still, an action figure isn't a movie.

And on Tuesday last week I went on splits with Elder Schoenberger, from Arizona and worked at Chik-fil-a, who only has one more change than me in the mission. So that was a fun time with him!

And finally, #IluminaElMundo. Light the World has officially started and this week on Friday and Saturday we will be in Piedras Negras for a big event with our zone, Acuña, and Piedras Negras. That is gonna be an awesome time! All of us missionaries are going to be in the main plaza there inviting people to come and watch the Meet the Mormons movie and learn about the Light the World campaign. It is gonna a big boost for Piedras Negras for sure!

Love you all. Keep on keeping on. Until next week!
