Week 3-4 in Sabinas. I think...

¿Qué pasa?

So first off, it has become increasingly apparent to me of how important the Book of Mormon is in every part of our lives. Never before have I been so invested and started pondering about this book that I have known for my whole life! I know of a surety that the Book of Mormon, el Libro de Mormón, is the keystone to our religion and that man will get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts than by any other book, as said by Joseph Smith. It is definitely a central part of missionary work as well!

So how's life y'all? Sabinas is awesome! So every martes we have exchanges where the zone leaders and district leaders go on splits with the missionaries. So this past week Elder Junior and Elder Atkin went conmigo in my area and Elder Garcia went with Elder Lorenzo in his area. And Elder Junior is an awesome guy and a fantastic missionary, and he gave Elder Atkin and I some tips and tricks. Like to say, "Vendemos jabón y perfumes", or "We sell soap and perfume" to break the ice, because a lot of people in Mexico go around selling soap and perfume. And we also sang Families Can Be Together Forever, in Spanish, to pretty much everyone we contacted. I never really thought of singing a hymn to everyone to bring the Spirit there.

In other news, I now have a speaker and a little USB drive with some church music on it now so I can listen to that before we go to bed! Pretty sweet!

One of the investigators we have, Tadeo, actually has 3 sisters who are members and one of them is on a mission! He also has like 5 kids and a wife that we can start to teach as well! So are definitely trying to work with him and his family because that is an awesome connection!

Everything here is pretty different from the USA, though some things are very similar. Like we ate at this place today called A La Papa, which basically they just sell battered french fries and they put queso, guacamole, chicken, and some other toppings on it. And it was pretty decent! Also the hamburgers here are a little different too! They always put like avocado or guacamole and a slice of ham on it. But they are also really good.

Also big news! I took a warm shower for the first time in 3-4 weeks!! We now have gas in our little casa! Probably one of the happiest times in my life.

Life is definitely hard as a missionary! But time flies when you put in the effort and work your hardest, and that has definitely been true this past week. As little Dory once said, "Just keep swimming."

Con amor,
Elder Turner
