And Off We Go!

So the past week has been insane. It feels like a month has passed and it's only been a week. Anyways, so we arrived in Saltillo and spent most of the day at President Cahoon's house. Then on tuesday we had some presentations and other stuff for the mission field, and then we met our companions. My comp is Elder Garcia, who actually never learned Spanish from his parents, who are Mexican. He has been in the field for about 6 months and is from California. The area that we were assigned to go to is Sabinas. Sabinas is a little city in between Monclova and Piedras Negras. At the moment we are in the same house with Elder Atkin and his comp Elder Lorenzo, who is from Panama, because they are still figuring a contract for our house so we can move in. But tomorrow we are talking with the landlady so it should be good. Also, there aren't any warm showers yet, because we'd have to pay extra for gas to get a warm shower.
Anways, so the last several days have been pretty long, yet kind of fast in a long way... The area that we are in was closed for about one or two changes so me and Elder Garcia have been trying to figure what's been going on with our area because he is new to this area too. But it's all good.
The food that I have had here so far is really good. We have eaten with the members here everyday so far except today because it's P-day. There are also a ton of dogs everywhere here in Mexico. And some of them are pretty aggressive and angry, but there was also this one pitbull we saw that was probably the friendliest dog I've seen in a while.
We have talked with quite a few people since we have got here and this past week we had about 12 new investigators or so. We also are teaching this part-member family that is really awesome and always bags on me and and my comp for our Spanish. We are also teaching this guy who is attending university and we met with this other lady who has come back into the church and her son who was baptized when he was 8 but hasn't ever really gone to church. So we are going to work with her to get her son to church. They also know English so that's pretty helpful too.
On another note, I am not understanding much of what people are saying at all here. Even during church I couldn't really understand anything. Everyone talks so fast and it's way different from the CCM. But I am getting a little better at understanding what people are saying so that's good. And my feet hurt from walking a lot. But it's alright.
Anways, this area of Sabinas that we are in is really awesome! It ranges from poor houses to rich houses and everything in between. It's pretty random. Hopefully this next week we'll move in to our new house too so we won't be crammed still.

But til next time! With love,
Elder Turner
