The One Email to rule them all

Image
Hey everyone! Well, this is probably going to be the last email home. So lets get it started.  So this past week went well!  We continued working with Leonardo! We ate with them on friday and we talked before eating! We taught him lesson 3 and he told us that he wants to get baptized! So we are going to baptize him this weekend!! We want Osvaldo to baptize him as well! So that is a cool miracle that happened last week! We also had our weekly activity at the stake center and brought Osvaldo and Leonardo with us! It was a lot of fun!  Also, funny thing, while we were heading towards a far away part of our area, we found a bunch of cows, so we have a picture of that! And I would like to share my thoughts and testimony about the mission. La verdad, is that is has been two of the greatest years (cliché), but also two hard years. If you don´t know if you should serve a mission, do it. But do it the best way you possibly can, because they are two short years. I have also fo

The Baptism of Carlos

Image
Hey everybody! So this past week was really cool. For a couple reasons. So let's talk about that.  So we continued working with Carlos this past week! We showed up one night while his dad was going to drop him off and talked with him a bit. When we asked him about his son getting baptized, he said, "It's his decision!" So that was cool! We had his interview on saturday morning and his baptism was that night! It went great!  We also had an activity saturday night after the baptism. We played some futball. It went good as well! And sunday, we were ending church when the young men's president walked up to us and said, "Have you met the 12 year old kid from Chihuahua? He's new here and isn't baptized." So he showed us him and his mom, who is a less-active member from a while ago. His name is Leonardo! We are going to meet with him and his mom this week! So that was a cool miracle as well! Because if he didn't go, we wouldn't

Sudden Things

Hey everyone. So this past week was going really great, until saturday. But let's talk about that! So we were setting things up really well this week. we had some cool experiences! Monday we visited a family with our mission leader and his son, it was a cool spiritual time! And tuesday we also had another cool experience. We visited another family with one of the counselors and we made more connections with them than ever before!  We also had a cool experience with Osvaldo, and got to see how he has grown spiritually since him and his family have returned to church! He also got to do baptize people in the temple because he is a priest!! And then, we went with this family during the week, and found their grandkid Carlos who is 9 and is not baptized. After talking with him and his grandparents, they want him to get baptized! So we are going with them tonight to see if we can baptize him this weekend!  And then, we were progressing well with Brandon, but when we wen

Good Week

So this past week went great! We were able to continue finding people and progress with others! So let's talk about that!  First off, we were able to teach Jose Luis about the Plan of Salvation and he is really receptive of it. Although he couldn't make it to church again.  We continued teaching Brandon as well, and put a fecha with him for the 27th of July! Although his parents right now aren't really giving him much permission, but he wants to be baptized! We also met 2 of his cousins that aren't members either! So that is cool! And today, we went and made no-bake cookies with him and his grandma and played soccer for a bit! It was fun! But we are going to have to work with his parents a bit. But he did come to church with us on sunday! And we also had an activity on friday where we played basketball, volleyball, and soccer. We also helped a less-active youth in the ward meet a new friend to help her and her sister get to church more! It was good! We a

Finding People and Zone Conference

Image
Hey peoples!  So this past was better! We were able to get some stuff done! We found 2 really good people that can progress last week! One of them is a man named Jose Luis. His family passed away some time ago and he lives alone now. He is a super cool and nice guy. He was going to go to church with us this week, but he ended up working late and couldn't.  And we also found a PF named Brandon. He is 11 years old and his grandma is a member. He is a super smart kid and wants to learn more about Jesus Christ! He couldn't make it to church either, but hopefully he will this one! ALso, we had our first zone conference with Presidente Meza and it was awesome! We received a lot of cool ideas about how we can work better! And I got sunburned while played sports during the interviews!:P Also, we had 1 person at church! She is the wife of a less-active member and they had their baby blessed on sunday! So that was cool! Anyways, that will be all for the

Crazy, well maybe not as crazy, Week

Hey everybody!  So this past week had some cool stuff happen. One of which was that our new president arrived, President Meza!  So friday we had a conference with our new President and his wife, and family! It was really cool! He is going to run things pretty similar to the way President Cahoon did, so that is cool! He also has 3 kids, ages 11, 8 and 2. (I think) It will be fun to get to know them for the rest of my mission! Also, I was called to be the new District Leader. So, wednesday I ended up doing an interview for the hermanas in our district and also was in intercambios at the same time. But the interview that I had was a special experience. The lady that I was interviewing wasn't exactly certain that she wanted to get baptized at the start. But after talking with her, I said something that just changed her whole perspective about baptism, and when I asked if she wanted to get baptized she replied "Of course I do." Her baptism was saturday and it went
